We have unveiled all three genomes of this alga, Cyanidioschyzon merolae. The picture is a phase-contrast + fluorescent image obtained by narrowing excitation light down to the center of eye-field (it's NOT a composite). The blue-white fluorescence show three DNA-containing organelles (nucleus, mitochondrion, and chloroplast) stained by DAPI. The chloroplasts also emit red autofluorescence of chlorophyll.
